Need an nice ride that’s good on gas?

A 320i is the answer.

Need something fun to drive, but practical at the same time?

A 328i is the answer.

Want a brown, diesel, manual wagon?

A 328d is the answer.

Want to look like a shower cap and drive like an idiot?

A 328i is the answer.

Need something to make your friends think you bathe in money when you pay $399 monthly payments with no down payment for a barebones automobile with a badge?

A 320i is the answer.

Need something to pose and flash all of the M badges?

A 335i M Sport is the answer.

Want to be ripped off, paying $35k for a “premium” car without leather, a rear view camera, navigation, heated seats, or other options available on a $20k Kia?

A 320i is the answer.

Whether good or bad, the 3 is the answer.

Can’t argue with that logic (except the 328d is auto only).

In that price range though, I'm getting a GTI.

BMW’s shitty leatherette really bugs me.

My $3500 Miata had a leather interior. A two-tone black/tan leather interior. With leather covering the entire dash AND door.

My E46 with the big 3.0L engine? Fucking leatherette. I’m sorry, remind me again which one is the luxury car?

Your Miata was used... so that’s why the entry price was lower than your E46. Though I despise BMW’s decision to not include leather as standard, the quality of their leatherette has notably improved.

The E46 was used, too. It was a $40K car when it left the showroom with its crappy leatherette. The Miata original sold for $15K and yet it had leather on everything, let alone just the seats.

I just find it maddening that BMW would sell the “privileged” engine with non-leather seating.

Hmmm... I feel that the leather on a car like a Miata would not be of the highest pedigree...

If only it answered my questions ;(

I want a wagon, with a manual, diesel preferred but not required, with Xenon and heated seats & steering wheel.

You’re also talking about a company that makes folding rear seats or rear seat pass through an option.

Signed,

E39 owner without folding seats or a pass through

Actually, besides manual, a 328d could fulfill your questions.

I’m not sure you can get Xenon (light package?) with Cold Weather package - but I’m spitballing. I look at them every few days on the CarMax app, there’s a 535 wagon that makes me droooool

I was seriously considering a 328 diesel and ended up in my ScandalWagen TDi because of the price and not having to fill up on AdBlue. Oh well.

I want to test drive a 320i... It just sounds under-powered for a car that size. I’ll probably steer my wife towards a 328i instead of a Lexus IS in a few months at lease end. I read earlier today a JB4 tune on a 320i has about the same results as the 328i tune, so there’s money to be saved there.

Sorry that you were scammed by VW, and that CarMax low balled you...

The 320i is adequate enough for round town duties and highway driving

Why is that so?

The SensaTec on our F30 is good enough to warrant to not pay for the real stuff. We upgraded from a Dakota Leather E90, so I couldn't directly compare.

It’s already cracked and feels just like the vinyl that it is. Sensatec sucks, deal with it.

Thanks... fingers crossed VW will make things right eventually.

After some googling, it appears the 320i hp figures are the same as the 2003 325xi I had but with 25 more torques, and that car was a perfectly good cruiser around town. According to google, the curb weight on a 320i is about 100lbs lighter than the 325xi, too. That puts things into a better perspective for me.

I guess you really don’t need more than a 320i.

I know the struggle. My POS E46 had fixed rear seats as well. I kept trying to convince myself it was for improved chassis rigidity, but it was actually just fucking stupid.
